A Bold, Deeply Personal Burnham Grove Estate Wedding

Celine and Liam's wedding at Burnham Grove Estate in Camden, Sydney was one of those days that reminds me why I love this job. Held outdoors beneath the open-air Peppercorn Chapel, with the rolling Camden fields stretching out behind them and the sunset settling into the background, it was a celebration that felt completely, unmistakably theirs.

Every couple is unique, and I always work with my couples to suit their style and their location. This one was no different — Celine stepped out in a stunning black gown carrying a bouquet of deep red flowers, and that single, confident choice set the tone for the entire day. It was bold, romantic, and utterly personal.

The Peppercorn Chapel & the Sunset Over the Fields

The ceremony took place in the Peppercorn Chapel, Burnham Grove's contemporary open-air ceremony space. With its clean structure framing the couple and the open countryside beyond, it's a spot that lends itself to honest, wide, environmental portraits. As the sun dropped toward the horizon, the light warmed and softened, spilling golden across the fields behind Celine and Liam as they exchanged vows. That golden-hour timing wasn't an accident — it's the window I always encourage couples to build into their timeline, and here it paid off in every frame.

The Homestead, the Gardens & the Friendly Staff

Beyond the ceremony, Burnham Grove Estate just keeps giving. The late-nineteenth-century Homestead — originally built by the Wheeler family in the 1880s — gave us a beautiful, character-filled space for getting-ready coverage and quiet detail portraits. The manicured gardens, fountains and heritage barn offered endless backdrops without ever having to leave the property. The staff were warm, genuinely helpful, and clearly used to making couples feel at ease, which let the day breathe.

If you're considering this venue, I've put together a full Burnham Grove Estate Sydney venue guide covering the ceremony spaces, the Homestead, the Croquet Lawn and the best times of day for portraits.

Working With Every Couple's Style

What I love about photographing couples is capturing them for the people they truly are — their personalities, their connection and their individual style, in a way that feels completely authentic to them. Celine and Liam's day was full of those genuine moments, and the resulting photographs are as unique as the couple themselves. A black gown and deep red bouquet isn't the traditional choice, and that's exactly the point. When you give a couple permission to be themselves, the images follow.
