Wedding Album Options cover

This page is to be used in conjunction with the Album Questionnaire we have sent you to complete.

It contains all the album options and Swatches you will need to make your album your own.

Why Your Wedding Album Matters

Digital files live on hard drives and phones that will one day be replaced, but a finely crafted wedding album is a physical heirloom your family will pick up for decades. There is something irreplaceable about turning real pages together, feeling the weight of the cover, and seeing your photographs printed at full resolution on archival paper. Your album is the one object from your wedding day that is designed to outlast you, to be passed to your children and rediscovered by grandchildren who want to know how it all began.

As Sydney wedding photographers, we have seen firsthand how couples respond to their finished album compared to a gallery link. The album turns a collection of beautiful images into a story with a beginning, a middle, and an ending, curated and sequenced so that every page flows naturally into the next. It is the difference between having photographs and owning your story.

How to Use This Page

Together with the Album Questionnaire we have sent you, this page walks you through every choice you will make: your cover material, your cover finish, your page design style, your embossing option, and your album size. Take your time, explore each option below, and note what draws your eye. There are no wrong answers, only the combination that feels most like the two of you.

Album Design Concept

Your page design style shapes how your photographs are arranged across each spread. Some couples love clean, full-bleed images with minimal white space, while others prefer a mix of collages and single-image pages that give each moment room to breathe. Below are the design concepts we offer, each with its own personality.

Contemporary Design — Full-bleed images edge to edge, with a modern, cinematic feel. Best for couples who want their album to read like a magazine, with bold photographs that fill every page.

Classic Design — A timeless layout with balanced white space and matted-style borders around each image. Perfect for traditional weddings and couples who love an elegant, understated look.

Blended Design — A mix of full-page hero images and multi-photo collages on facing pages. This style gives you both grand, statement moments and detailed storytelling spreads in the same album.

Modern Design — Clean lines, asymmetric layouts, and generous negative space. Ideal for couples whose aesthetic leans minimal and architectural.

Clean Design — One or two images per page with plenty of breathing room. Every photograph gets star treatment, with no busy collages to compete with.

Elegant Design — Refined, symmetrical layouts with fine borders and a formal feel. Suited to black-tie weddings and couples who love tradition.

Composite Design — A creative blend of overlapping images, varied sizes, and artistic arrangements. For couples who want something truly one-of-a-kind and editorial.

Not sure which style is right for you? We will guide you. Many couples choose a blended approach, starting with full-page hero shots for the ceremony and reception, then shifting to collage-style pages for the details and dance floor. Tell us which concepts below catch your eye and we will build a design that reflects your day.

Album Sizes and Formats

Our wedding albums are available in a range of sizes to suit your vision and your coffee table. The most popular choice is our signature 12 x 12 inch square album, which gives every photograph room to shine and feels substantial in the hand. We also offer 10 x 10 inch and 8 x 8 inch formats for couples who prefer a more compact keepsake, as well as 10 x 12 inch and 12 x 15 inch landscape and portrait orientations for a different aspect ratio.

Each album is hand-bound with a layflat binding, meaning your two-page spreads sit flat when the album is open, with no gutter cutting through the middle of your panoramic shots. This is the difference between a premium album and a mass-produced photo book, and it is why your full-bleed ceremony and reception images will look seamless across the spread.

Paper Quality and Print Finish

Every album is printed on archival-grade photographic paper rated to last 100+ years without fading. We use professional silver-halide printing, the same process used for fine-art gallery prints, which produces richer blacks, truer skin tones, and finer detail than any inkjet or digital press. Your photographs are developed in a traditional photo lab, not printed on a home printer.

You can choose between a lustre finish (a subtle satin sheen that resists fingerprints and reduces glare) or a gloss finish (vibrant and punchy with maximum colour saturation). Most couples choose lustre for its balance of richness and practicality, especially for albums that will be handled often.

Personalising Your Album

Beyond the cover, design, and embossing options shown on this page, there are many ways to make your album unmistakably yours:

  • Custom cover image — Choose your favourite photograph for a Photo Cover, printed directly onto the album cover for a cinematic, personalised finish.
  • Title page — Add your names, wedding date, and a short message or quote on the opening page.
  • Chapter dividers — Separate your day into chapters (Getting Ready, Ceremony, Portraits, Reception) with elegant divider pages.
  • Colour or black and white — Choose all colour, all black and white, or a curated mix. We can advise on which images look best in each treatment.
  • Duplicate copies — Order matching copies for parents or grandparents so everyone has the same keepsake.

If you can dream it, we can probably build it. Tell us what you have in mind and we will make it happen.

Your Album Design Timeline

Once you return your Album Questionnaire and let us know your preferences from this page, the design process typically unfolds like this:

  1. Week 1 to 2 — We build your first draft layout, selecting and sequencing your photographs into a flowing narrative.
  2. Week 3 — You review the draft and request changes: swap images, adjust page order, add or remove pages. Most couples do one or two rounds of revisions.
  3. Week 4 — Final approval. Once you sign off on the design, we send your album to the lab for printing and binding.
  4. Week 6 to 8 — Your finished album is hand-bound, quality-checked, and delivered to your door.

The entire process usually takes six to eight weeks from questionnaire to delivery, though rush options are available if you need it sooner. We will keep you updated at every stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pages should I choose?

Most couples choose between 30 and 60 pages (15 to 30 spreads). A 30-page album suits a smaller wedding or a curated highlights collection, while 50 to 60 pages gives you room for the full story from getting ready through to the last dance. We will recommend a page count based on how many images you want to include.

Can I add more pages later?

Yes, additional pages can be added at any time before the album goes to print. Once the album is bound, pages cannot be inserted, so we always finalise the design before sending it to the lab.

What if I change my mind about the cover or design?

You can change any element of your album right up until final approval. We want you to love the finished result, so we encourage you to take your time with the options on this page.

Can I order copies for my parents?

Absolutely. Additional Parent Albums are available from $300 and are exact replicas of your main album in a smaller format. Many couples order two or four copies so both sets of parents and grandparents have their own.

Do you offer payment plans for albums?

Yes, we offer flexible payment options for albums and album upgrades. Talk to us about spreading the cost and we will find a plan that works for you.

Caring for Your Wedding Album

A premium album is built to last generations, but a little care will keep it looking pristine. Store your album upright on a shelf away from direct sunlight, which can fade photographs over time. Handle it with clean, dry hands, and avoid eating or drinking nearby. If you display it on a coffee table, keep it inside its presentation box when not in use to protect the cover from dust and fingerprints. With these simple habits, your album will look as beautiful on your fiftieth anniversary as it does on the day it arrives.
